PAUL CARTY RETURNS TO SCEC

State Contracting and Engineering Corporation (SCEC) announced today that Paul Carty has returned to the firm as Vice President.

Carty began his construction management career at SCEC in 1988 after graduating from the University of Florida with a Bachelor's in Building Construction. In 1996, Carty joined Pirtle Construction in Davie, Fla., where he eventually became Vice President. Carty was instrumental in Pirtle's successful transition to the Design-Build and Construction Management At Risk delivery systems. During Carty's 12-year tenure at Pirtle, the company's revenue increased tenfold.

"Rejoining SCEC marks an important juncture in my career and I'm excited about our future," Carty said. "The business philosophies and values I have developed during my career are very closely aligned to those of SCEC. It's a company that believes in putting people first, whether referring to our employees or our clients."

Carty has overseen numerous public projects in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties during his 20 years in the South Florida construction industry. His portfolio includes roadways, educational facilities, libraries, parks and recreational facilities, and other municipal projects.

In recent years Carty has established himself as a leader in South Florida's green building movement. A LEED Accredited Professional, Carty serves on the board of the South Florida Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. Carty led the construction management team that built Broward County's first LEED-certified green building: the South Regional/BCC Library in Pembroke Pines.
