SCEC BUILDS NEW CORPORATE OFFICE FOR ARCHITECTURE FIRM

SCEC has completed construction of the new headquarters office for the architectural firm of Borrelli + Partners.

Borrelli's new office suite is in the Douglas Centre, a multistory building located in the heart of the Coral Gables business district, two blocks south of Miracle Mile, in Miami-Dade County.

Borrelli provided the design services for this SCEC design-build project.

Due to the eighth-floor location, all construction activities were scheduled around the existing tenants of the occupied building, including the initial demolition to clear the space of all partition walls and finishes.

Careful coordination was required during design and construction in order to facilitate installation of the large glass panels for the new reception and conference rooms.

SCEC contracted with property manager Turnberry Associates of Aventura.

By working as a design-build team, SCEC and Borrelli were able to expedite design, permitting, and construction – reducing overall completion of the project by one month.
