SCEC TO HELP TRANSFORM COMMERCIAL BOULEVARD IN LAUDERDALE-BY-THE-SEA
SCEC is proud to announce its selection as Construction Manager by the Town of Lauderdale-of-the-Sea for upcoming improvements to the western portion of Commercial Boulevard within the Town's limits.
The project will included streetscape improvements to four existing mixed-use/business blocks on Commercial Boulevard, from the Intracoastal bridge east to Seagrape Drive. SCEC will be responsible for coordination with dozens of businesses and residents.
Improvements to the existing, ineffective drainage system on Commercial Boulevard, a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) roadway, will be implemented under a joint agreement between the FDOT and the Town. Roadway reconstruction and reconfigured street parking will follow the new drainage system installation.
The scope at each block will involve complete reconstruction of the parking lot, including new drainage, as well as new brick paver sidewalks, landscape, lighting, and custom aluminum trellis sculptures.
The Town Commission has authorized SCEC to provide preconstruction services during the final design stages. This will include preparing a Guaranteed Maximum Price proposal for project construction, which is scheduled to start in May. Architectural Alliance of Fort Lauderdale is the Town's prime design consultant for the project.
Lauderdale-by-the-Sea is located just north of Fort Lauderdale between the Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. This is SCEC's first project for the Town.
