SCEC DESIGN-BUILD TEAM COMPLETES FDOT LAUDERHILL BUS SHELTER PROJECT
SCEC has completed the construction of 13 bus shelters within the City of Lauderhill for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 4 in partnership with Broward County Transit.
Shelters were built adjacent to Oakland Park Boulevard, University Drive, and NW 56th Avenue, without ever requiring a lane closure, which kept the impact to the traveling public to a minimum.
SCEC completed the project 22 days early; contract duration was 276 calendar days.
SCEC teamed with Bentley Architects + Engineers, based in Longwood, Florida, on this design-build project. This was SCEC’s first design-build contract with Bentley Architects. SCEC has a long history of FDOT design-build success, having led the Florida Turnpike’s first design-build project in 1989.
