DESIGN-BUILD SUCCESS: SCEC COMPLETES HVAC REPLACEMENT AT CORAL PARK ELEMENTARY
SCEC has successfully completed a design-build renovation project for the School Board of Broward County at Coral Park Elementary School in Coral Springs.
The project consisted of replacing the school’s entire existing HVAC system, comprised of 30 Direct Expansion air conditioning units, with a single-source chilled water system. SCEC installed chiller lines throughout the campus as well as constructed a structure to house the chiller equipment. The equipment was selected to comply with the City’s noise ordinance due to the close proximity to neighboring residences.
More than 20 mechanical rooms were retrofitted during the summer break to accommodate the new chiller lines and new air handling units.
SCEC’s design-build team included Carty Architecture, SGM Engineering, and Hyvac. SCEC was issued a Notice to Proceed with design and construction in February 2015 and achieved Substantial Completion in August, as scheduled and in time for the new school year. The project was completed within budget.
SCEC is proud to continue its success building for the School Board of Broward County.
